Research Salary Scale: Grade 8, £37,012 - £44,166 per annum pro rata
Fixed Term Contract for 12 months in the first instance

Sussex Health Outcomes Research & Education in Cancer (SHORE-C) is pleased to offer a Research Fellow position based on the University of Sussex site in Falmer to commence as soon as possible. We are especially interested in candidates with expertise in research methods or applications that advance outcomes research, comparative effectiveness research, or clinical trials. This can include research on study design, measurement, and analysis using psychometric, econometric, decision-analytic or other related approaches. Applications are invited from research psychologists/epidemiologists/biostatisticians.

The successful applicant must have excellent statistical analysis skills, demonstrable experience in a research setting and have written at least 5 substantive publications in high-impact peer-reviewed journals. The post involves liaising with statisticians; help with analysis of data from large on-going and completed clinical trials, preparation of papers and supporting materials ready for publication. Initially primary responsibility will be working on the psychosocial arm UKCTOCS - an ovarian cancer screening trial.  

Applications from post-doctoral fellows wishing to pursue a career in psycho-oncology/population science are encouraged.
