Job Description:

The Molecular Virology and Vaccines Branch of the Influenza Division at the CDC, Atlanta is seeking applications for a Post Doctoral Fellowship in the fields of bioinformatics and computational biology.

The Post Doctoral Fellow position will work on the molecular evolution of influenza A viruses. The incumbent will be responsible for analyzing the evolutionary biology of influenza A viruses and develop tools to identify host range and virulence markers. The position will require a Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Evolutionary Biology, or a related field. A strong programming ability is essential. Some background in evolutionary theory, mathematics and/or statistics is desirable. The successful candidate should be highly motivated and able to work independently, but integrate well within an interdisciplinary team.

The position is available immediately and salary will be commensurate with experience.
