Job Description:

A postdoctoral research assistantship, funded by the BBSRC, is available in the laboratory of Dr Peter Brennan in the Department of Physiology. The overall context of the project is to determine the role of oscillating neural activity in conveying sensory information, and how this changes following learning. The specific focus of the work is the vomeronasal system, a chemosensory system specialised for detecting pheromonal signals. Applicants should have a PhD in neuroscience and those with experience of in vivo electrophysiological recording or mathematical modelling of neural systems are especially encouraged to apply.
