Description:
A grant-funded *postdoctoral position *is immediately available for a highly motivated individual with a strong interest in Immunology in the laboratory of Dr. Alan H. Lazarus at St. Michael’s Hospital The primary project includes experimentation on the understanding of how anti-RhD can prevent hemolytic disease of the fetus and newborn (HDFN). Anti-RhD (anti-D) has successfully been able to almost completely eliminate HDFN but oddly, we have barely scratched the surface in understanding how it actually works. The project uses murine models to mimic the effects of IgG antibodies to inhibit immune responses. The laboratory has access to all of the equipment needed to perform the work. The position and grant is fully funded for 5 years. This position requires a Ph.D. in Immunology or a related field with a strong background in Immunology. Experience in cellular immunology is an asset.
