Description

Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Scientist in the Department of Cell and Developmental Biology.

The successful candidate will join a small group of motivated scientists focussed on understanding aspects of how temperature influences plant growth and development. Further details of the department can be found at http://www.jic.ac.uk/corporate/Science-Departments/cell-dev-biology.htm

How plants sense ambient temperature is not well understood. In a recent study from our laboratory, we have found that chromatin plays a key role in temperature sensing (Kumar and Wigge, 2010, Cell 140:136). We are seeking to build on this advance, and are looking for a motivated Postdoc to join our team.

The successful candidate will be an outstanding Postdoctoral Scientist who will work with us to extend these studies. The post requires someone with excellent conceptual as well as technical skills. The team is very interactive, and you will have frequent meetings to discuss and trouble-shoot, both with Dr Phil Wigge directly and the whole team. Enjoyment and participation in teamwork is key.
