Description
Several 3-year post-doctoral fellowships are available in the laboratory of Dr John Diffley at Cancer Research UK’s London Research Institute, based in the Clare Hall Laboratories.
We are interested in understanding the mechanism and regulation of DNA replication. We study the process in budding yeast, mouse and human cells. We are interested in several questions:
What are the mechanisms involved in initiating DNA replication?
How is DNA replication regulated during the cell cycle?
How is DNA replication regulated in response to DNA damage?
Does the misregulation of DNA replication contribute to cancer genesis?
Candidates should have a strong background in either: biochemistry, yeast, genetics, mammalian cell culture or mouse models.
