Job Description The Texas Children's Cancer Center and the Human Genome Sequencing Center of Baylor College of Medicine are searching for a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join our pediatric cancer genomics group. The focus of the position will be the study of pediatric cancer genetics, utilizing a combination of computational and analytical techniques applied to large-scale data sets produced from next generation re-sequencing technologies. We encourage both independent thinking and close interactions with other members in a large team setting. Minimum Education: Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related field. Minimum Job Experience: The successful candidate will have a strong background in bioinformatics and/or computational biology. In-depth understanding of genomic data sets (DNA sequence, copy number, or expression) is desired. Previous experience with cancer biology and cancer-related signaling pathways would be advantageous. The ideal candidate will have: *Experience with genomic data sets and cancer biology. *Working knowledge of Unix and PERL. *Ability to work both independently and in a team environment. *Excellent communication skills.
