POST DOCTORAL POSITION – MR IMAGING (J.NR. DMF-16/08)

The Norwegian Functional Genomics technology platform for MR imaging ofrodents seeks scientists with a strong background in mammalianneurophysiology and/or brain MR imaging.

The MR laboratory today consists of 3 NMR-instruments (300MHz, 500MHzand 600MHz). Research activities currently include biomedical andnatural sciences mainly focused towards pathophysiology and developmentof MR methodology and are integrated with the clinical MR researchactivities at the St.Olavs University Hospital in Trondheim. Themajority of projects are collaborative efforts within brain, heart andcancer. Some 30 scientists, graduate and post-graduate students arecurrently working here.

The core facility is closely associated with a number of large nationaland international research projects and is integrated into the recentlyestablished Centre for Research-driven Innovation (CRI) MI Lab (MedicalImaging Laboratory for Innovative Future Healthcare).

The position is dedicated to participation, in accordance with thecompetence and interests of the candidate, in a wide variety of projectsin molecular imaging with MR. A specific priority will be on developmentof MRI-methods for quantitative measurement of brain perfusion andfunctional MR imaging (fMRI) of rodents on a 7T Bruker BiospecMR-scanner. We seek scientist with experience from similar research. Inaddition, the candidate should have an interest in interdisciplinaryresearch and have good communication skills to interact with thedifferent research groups at the facility.

We offer participation in a large multidisciplinary research environmenthosting several exciting projects combining technological challengeswith our ambition to increase our knowledge about disease processes anddevelop new diagnostic tools and treatment to the benefit of patients.

The successful applicant must agree to the conditions laid down forpublic employees.

Salary is according to the general policies of NTNU and dependent onqualifications. The position is remunerated according to salary code1352, entry salary level 54 on the Norwegian State salary scale. Thisamounts to an annual gross salary of NOK 394 700.-out of which 2% isdeducted for the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund.
