Job Description
The Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Nevada School of Medicine in Reno, Nevada is seeking two postdoctoral fellows to study biochemistry of lymphocyte-mediated cytotoxicity, including granzymes, perforin and other toxic proteins of T and NK cells in the laboratory of Dorothy Hudig, Ph.D.; immunotherapy using murine models of bone marrow transplantation in tumor-bearing mice in the laboratory of William J. Murphy, Ph.D.; antimicrobial immunity in the laboratory of Thomas R. Kozel, Ph.D.; or tumor immunity in the laboratory of Kenneth W. Hunter, Sc.D. Positions under other NIH T32CA09563 sponsors possible. Promotion to a research faculty position is possible for an outstanding individual. Required experience includes Ph.D. or an equivalent degree, first-authored publications in English language journals, and expertise compatible with the funded research of the faculty. Training in immunology, tumor biology, proteomics, molecular biology, enzymology and/or cell biology is preferred. One of the positions is funded by NIH T32CA09563 and requires US citizenship or permanent resident status. In addition to participating in our growing medical school, Northern Nevada also offers great natural beauty, with Lake Tahoe a short drive away, the Truckee River offering kayaking and fishing, and our beautiful mountainous high desert environment.
