Two Postdoctoral Research Assistants
Research Assistant
We are pleased to offer exciting research opportunities within a newly formed group in the Section of Pathology and Gene Regulation. The research seeks to address fundamental questions about the regulatory processes that control the expression of genes during normal haematopoietic development in both human and mouse – at the level of chromatin structure and function and transcription factor interactions. The group uses state-of-the-art approaches such as RNAi, stem cell manipulation, microarrays and high-throughput sequencing to study these processes both genome-wide and at specific gene loci. There are currently three posts available – two at the level of postdoctoral research assistant (Grade 7) and one at the level of research assistant (Grade 6). You will contribute to the scientific output of numerous projects in the group in an area of research which is highly competitive. Through your involvement with these projects, you will develop an extensive repertoire of relevant experimental and computational skills.
Candidates for the postdoctoral posts should have relevant laboratory experience (including pre-doctoral training) and have essential skills in the techniques described above. Candidates for the research assistant post should have relevant laboratory experience and a knowledgeable and skilled approach to conducting a range of basic molecular techniques.
