DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assumes leadership role in the development and implementation ofpolicies, procedures, rules and regulations related to clinical practicethat supports organizational goals related to infection control best practice.
2. Assumes leadership role in assuring that hospital-wide infectioncontrol guidelines and policies meet best practice and accreditationstandards, including related portions of guidelines and policies inclinical and operational departments.
3. Works closely with COSs and other members of the interdisciplinaryteam to plan and deploy Infection Control Program and educationalresources for health care workers across the hospital to ensurecompliance with local and national regulations and guidelines, includingthe Joint Commission and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
4. Serves as primary infection control contact as needed for surveyorsfrom related authority such as CDC and the Joint Commission.
5. Plan, monitor and/or manage budget in functional area of department.
EXPERIENCES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families,physicians, and other health care team members.
- Strong critical thinking skills and project management.
- 5+ years* Hospital or Public Health Infection Control and/orEpidemiology experience.
- Management experience is a plus
