SUMMARY:
- Operates from a deep understanding of the total situation.Collaborates with other caregivers to challenge and coordinateinstitutional resources to maximize advocacy for patient and family carein achieving the most effective outcomes.
ESSENTIAL TASKS:
- Assess plan, implement and evaluate the nursing care of patientsthroughout the clinic
- Document accurately and concisely the care provided and its outcome
- Carry out investigation and treatment prescribed by the physician
- Communicate and discuss patient’s response to treatment and progresswith physician and nursing colleagues assigned to patient.
- Prepare and assist physician with procedures.
- Collaborate and co-operate with physicians and other health careproviders in the smooth delivery of patient care and service.
- Follow - up to ensure continuity of patient care and treatment plan.
- Deliver safe and competent nursing care.
- Demonstrate clinical skills, knowledge and critical thinking in thedelivery of patient care.
- Provide patient / family information and education on diseaseprevention, process and rehabilitation.
- Manage complex patient care.
- Maintain and care in the use of the equipment and supplies.
- Act as a resource person.
- Cross-cover as head nurse assigned.
- Supervise junior nurses and be preceptor as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:
- Modify interventions based on a deep understanding of patient andfamily needs attained through past experiences.
- Participate in interdisciplinary forums that promote an integratedapproach to patient care.
- Implement unique and innovative approaches to meeting patient, family,and unit and practice concerns.
- Lead / coordinate activities that impact the quality of care on theunit and / or patient population.
- Act as a resource to colleagues in relation to a patient population.
- Skillfully negotiate conflict to promote collaboration.
- Understand her/his role as a member of the health care team.
- Actively empower and advocate for patients and families to maximizetheir participation in decision-making and goal setting.
- Work effectively on clinic-wide committees and initiatives.
- At least 5 years working experiences in Dental clinic.
DECISION-MAKING and ANALYTICAL SKILLS:
- Require the strong capability in clinical judgement anddecision-making during the absence of team leader.
- Provide guidance and orientation to nursing staff assigned to the unit.
- Facilitate the smooth running of the department
- Demonstrate good interpersonal skills with the public and staff
- Demonstrate awareness of current nursing and health care practices
- Participate in research, clinical and service quality activities.
- Take an expanded role as assigned and deputize the nurse manager inher / his absence.
