DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 工作职责:
- Radiation therapists perform a wide variety of technical therapeuticprocedures by the application of ionizing radiation from radioactivematerials or generators to treat benign or malignant diseases of the body;
- Work closely with Radiation Oncologists and medical physicist todiscuss the treatment plan and the type of simulator scanning that willbe necessary;
- Compete to place reference markings on the patients' body; positionpatients for single portal, multiple portal, rotation or cross beamtherapy, providing immobilization devices as required;
- Compete to set up equipment according to the treatment plan verifyingthe placement of bars, wedges and similar devices.
- Demonstrate competence in all treatment modalities offered at the center.
- Review treatment procedures with the patient to reinforce thetherapist's comments on reactions to therapy.
- Ensure that department communication and emergency procedures are understood.
- Working closely with physicians and nurses to instruct patient withappropriate symptom management.
- Provide consultation services to the physician staff on medicalphysics issues.
- Document accurately and timely with care delivered to patients and its outcome.
- Maintain compliance with applicable state and federal radiation regulations.
- Interface with information services and demonstrates a clearunderstanding and knowledge of computer applications and systems relatedto radiation therapy.
- Monitor patient closely throughout treatment process to ensure patientcare quality and safety.
- Actively communicate with patient for treatment update to ensure flowefficiency and patient satisfaction.
