Context of the Role

Health Systems Science is a newly create******** within the Institute.Health Systems Science is a dynamic an******** discipline that includeshealth services research, health policy an******** research an********science. The goal of this theme of work is to overcome the challenges ofdelivering affor******** high quality health services an******** tocommunities across China an********.

The Role

The Health Systems Research Fellow will support existing projects of theGeorge Institute China that have a health systems focus. The positionwill work to ensure that ‘systems thinking’ is incorporate******** theseprojects an******** the development of new research ideas. This mayinclude undertaking analyses of health system performance in Ch********conducting studies of health systems ******** developing newpartnerships with key stakeholders an******** forevidence-informe******** changes.

In the current context of an increase******** of international fundingopportunities aime******** supporting health systems research, thesuccessful candidate will enhance Institute-wide knowledge of,an******** w******** these funders an******** opportunities for thedevelopment of external partnerships for joint proposals, projectsan******** of research to strengthen the excellence an******** of ourwork.

Reporting Relationships

The Health Systems Research Fellow has a dual reporting relationship tothe Executive D******** The George Institute China an******** Directorof Health Systems Sc******** The George Institute Global.

The role will initially have no direct supervisory responsibilities butwill support research leads an******** members in the George InstituteChina offices an******** Office of the Chief Scientist.

Duties an******** Responsibilities

•Support the Institute’s existing health systems-relate******** toensure research teams have the necessary capacity to implement healthsystems research methods
•Work with research teams to ensure the incorporation of appropriate‘systems thinking’ in project approach; provide assistance with therevision an******** of project methods to facilitate increase******** tothe broader health system.
•Assess national an******** funding opportunities for health systemsresearch an******** Institute-wide knowledge of, an******** w********these funders.
•Lea******** contribute to the development of peer-reviewe******** withhealth systems focus.
•Organise educational seminars delivere******** visiting specialistsaime******** increasing exposure of all Institute staff to healthsystems science an******** components
•Identify an******** professional development opportunities to increasepersonal capacity in health systems science
•Attract high quality PhD students; an******** students in securingcompetitive scholarship funding.
•Engage with external individual an******** with health systems researchexpertise to develop partnerships for technical advice an********development.
