Context

Diabetes Research (DR) is a new erecte******** in GIC. The keyrole of DR team is to support the development an******** of high qualityprojects / initiatives in diabetes in China. The team member willparticipate in all phases of project ******** providing advice onconcept ******** project management structures, log******** capacitydevelopment act******** potential funding sources, media relat********an******** for the dissemination of research findings to facilitateuptake into practice. Studies cover the area of ep********prevent******** health care an********, treatment an******** economy ondiabetes.

In collaboration with IDF (International Diabetes Federation) an********(Chinese Diabetes Society), several large-scale investigation projectshave been launche******** assess the ******** care, treatment an********of diabetes mellitus in China. Hundreds of health care facilities havebeen covere******** these studies. Talents have academic studybackgroun******** welcome to join the team.

The Role

The Program Hea******** require******** develop an******** research at anational or international level, as team leader of the Diabetes ResearchProgram. This research program will involve collaborations with peoplean******** external to the GI at national an******** levels.

Reporting Relationships
The primary reporting path will be to the Associate Director of TheGeorge Institute China. The Program Hea******** lea******** with staffon a number of projects within the Program an******** Programs withinthe George Institute.

Duties an******** Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

• Provide high level oversight an******** to all research activities ofthe Program.
• Develo******** national an******** links to support the Program’sactivities.
• Provide lea******** advice an******** in projects, an******** autonomyin relation to techn******** methods an******** to achievedesire********.
• Actively develop an******** the desire******** of The George Instituteby ensuring all ******** documentation an******** are conducte******** amanner which supports the state********.
• Foster strategic research collaborations with other researchers onprojects both within an******** to The George Institute.
• Contribute to teaching activities within an******** the Institute.
• Directly wr******** an******** others in development of reports onanalyses that are suitable for publication in high impact journals.
• Atten******** meetings of establishe********, where appropriate.
• Lea******** writing an******** raising for the development of newprojects.
• Ensure that research being conducte******** congruent withworl******** practice.
• Remain abreast of developments that are relevant to the Programan******** Inst******** providing a source of information to colleagueswithin the Institute.

• Substantial experience of the conduct of epidemiological and/orclinical research
• Proven ability to work independently
