DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Understands and follows Jiahu*s “Mission Statement”, “Code ofEthics”, organizational policies, and structure.
2. Provides general primary obstetric and gynecologial care usinggenerally accepted standards of practice. The physician develops a planof care for each patient, including complete history, physicalexamination, diagnosis, appropriate treatment and /or referral, uses allavailable resources in an appropriate and cost efficient manner.
3. Hospitalizes as needed any patient requiring in-patient care.Provides obstetric and gynecological care according to accepted Jiahuistandards during the hospitalization.
4. Confers with consulting physicians, mid-level providers, nurses,support staff, patients, and families concerning treatment and care ofpatients. Makes appropriate specialty and sub-specialty referrals, butmaintains responsibility, assuring continuing of care.
5. Perform general gynecological and obstetric surgical procedures, bothdiagnostic and therapeutic, using both minimally invasive andtraditional surgical techniques.
6. Performs colposcopies and LEEPs as office and inpatient procedures asappropriate.
7. Conforms to government requirements and agrees to provide all methodsof birth control including IUDs and the birth control pills
8. Provide tubal ligations at the request of patients, at legallypermitted age, following thorough explanation and documentation of risksand benefits. Performs circumcisions. Physician will perform electiveabortions, vaginal birth after cesarean, VBacks, or forcep deliveries.
9. Participates in regular call coverage.
10. Participates in health promotion/disease prevention activities.Stresses the importance of preventive health care measures.
11. Supports mid-level providers in supervision and consultation.
12. Participates in quality improvement/assurance activities.
13. Attends and participates in Jiahui Health Services activities asrequested.
14. Attends mandatory inservices and Jiahui Health Services meetings.
15. Completes records in adequate professional detail, and in a timelymanner using Jiahui electronic medical record system.
16. Other duties as assigned by the Medical Director, and/or JiahuiAdministration staff, to meet the goal of providing excellent healthcare.
17. Maintains and acquires knowledge and skills to perform requiredduties to meet all hospital, government, organizational and licensurerequirements.
18. Abides by the Jiahui OB/GYN department protocols and guidelines.
19. Follows established guidelines for use and/or disclosure ofprotected health information. Employees should report any breaches ofthe confidentiality to the Privacy Officer (Medical Affair Office)immediately. Failure to comply will result in disciplinary action, up toand including termination of employment.
