Description
The Statistical Genetics laboratory of Kyriacos Markianos, Ph.D., partof the Program in Genomics at Children’s Hospital, Boston, seeks apost-doctoral fellow to join in an effort to identify rare variantsresponsible for Autism related phenotypes. The successful candidate willhave the opportunity to work with family and population based samples.Computational challenges include analysis of high density SNP chips andlarge scale re-sequencing.
The lab focuses on the development and software implementation ofmethods for genetic analysis in human and model organisms. Active areasof research include multipoint linkage analysis in large families,population genetics and natural variation of mosquito malaria resistance.
Previous experience in quantitative genetics, in particular populationgenetics is highly desirable. Experience in Scientific Computing isrequired. The successful candidate is expected to work independently andinteract with collaborating Harvard Labs. Familiarity with C/C++, Perland statistical analysis software like S-plus or R are highly desirable.
