Description
Postdoctoral opportunity to study the influence of neuromodulators onnetwork activity in the mouse cortical brain slice preparation. Theresearch will entail multimodal measurement of circuit activity (usingensemble fluorescence imaging and intra- and extracellularelectrophysiology) under varied neuromodulatory tone and stimulus paradigms.
The current focus is schizophrenia and related disorders, but thepossibility exists to extend this work to mouse models ofneurodegeneration. Funding for this position at NIH scale currentlyexists for 2 years, but the fellow will also be expected to generateproposals for independent funding.
Qualifications:
* Recent Ph.D. in Bioengineering, Neuroscience or related (within 5 years)
* Experience with patch clamp or extracellular electrophysiology orphysiological imaging
* Experience with MATLAB and/or LABVIEW is a strong plus
* Current ability to work in the United States
