韩国大脑研究所声音感知研究博士后职位

日期:2014-03-28

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join the newly established laboratory of Dr. Satoshi Kojima at the Korea Brain Research Institute in South Korea. Research in the laboratory focuses on the question of how vocal learners including humans learn to produce their complex vocalizations from other individuals during a critical period of development, and more broadly, how experience during early life shapes the functioning of the nervous system and individuals’ perception and behavior. To address these questions we study songbirds, a great model system for studying the neural substrates of vocal learning, with a long-term goal of contributing to our understanding of speech and developmental learning mechanisms in humans that benefits our society. The lab plans to utilize a variety of techniques, including electrophysiology, behavioral manipulations, pharmacology, optogenetics and other genetic tools etc.

The positions will be available in August 2014. Candidates must have a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent doctoral degree at the time of employment. Expertise in related experiments (electrophysiology, behavior analysis, optogenetics, molecular genetics, psychophysics etc.) as well as programming skills is preferred but not required. Candidates with research experiences in different areas are also welcome. If you are interested, please send application materials including a curriculum vitae, a list of 2-3 references and a concise statement of research interests by email to Satoshi Kojima at satoshikojima.sk@gmail.com.
