Neuroscience Postdoctoral Positions

University of Massachusetts Medical School

Postdoctoral positions are available immediately in the laboratories of Drs. Andrew R. Tapper and Paul D. Gardner at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. The primary focus of the research team is to use biophysical, molecular, and behavioral approaches to understand molecular mechanisms underlying drug addiction with a particular emphasis on nicotine and alcohol (see recent publications:  Curr. Biol. 23(23):2327-35; Biol. Psychiatry 73(8):738-46). Post-docs will be expected to spearhead new projects and use multi-disciplinary approaches in an effort to identify novel circuits and signaling cascades involved in nicotine and/or alcohol dependence. This will include, but not be limited to, the role of small RNAs in drug addiction. Applicants should have strong backgrounds in molecular biology and/or neuroscience. Please submit CV with names and e-mail addresses of three references to either Dr. Tapper or Dr. Gardner.
