The Rehabilitation Research & Development Center of Excellence for Visual and Neurocognitive Rehabilitation (CVNR) of the Atlanta VA Medical Center invites applications for postdoctoral training positions from individuals with research interests in the field of visual rehabilitation. The CVNR conducts a range of human and animal studies in visual and neurocognitive rehabilitation and related areas, and offers an exciting, collegial and collaborative environment for research and training. Postdoctoral fellows work with a team of mentors chosen based on research and training needs of the fellow, and are strongly encouraged to apply for VA Career Development Awards. Potential mentors include Krish Sathian, MD, PhD; Machelle Pardue, PhD; Katharina Echt, PhD; and David Ross, MSEE, MEd; along with a number of University-based collaborators. The position will be supported by the CVNR for up to two years, with the possibility of further extension subject to funding. Applicants should ideally have a background in vision science or low vision rehabilitation research; however, applicants with training in other disciplines will also be considered if such training is relevant. US citizenship is a requirement. Salary is based on VA pay scales and experience, and is highly competitive, ranging from approximately $60,000 - $85,500 per annum. Applications should include a cover letter explaining the applicant’s interest in visual rehabilitation, a c.v. and the names and contact information of three references. Please direct applications or inquiries to email@example.com. If the applicant is attending the Society for Neuroscience meeting in San Diego in November 2013, an in-person interview could be arranged.
