We Currently Have The Following Opportunity:

Postdoctoral Research Fellow – Global Safety Pharmacology

The purpose of this position is to set up and validate in vitro tissuebath preparations to determine the mechanism of action of thehypertensive effects of VEGF inhibitors. Primarily, you will be reliedon to support efforts to elucidate the mechanism behind the observedhypertension seen with VEGF receptor inhibitors in the clinic and uponin vivo dosing in animals. This will involve identifying suitablevascular preparations to investigate, design of experimentation and setup of tissue bath equipment not currently available in the lab such asmyograph and perfusion bed systems. In addition, it will be encouragedthat all findings be published in peer reviewed journals and presentedat external meetings.

Candidates must have a Ph.D. Degree, with previous post-doc experiencepreferred. Experience with in vitro pharmacology is a must, with invitro tissue bath experience desirable. Tissue bath skills – myograph,perfusion bed techniques, knowledge of NO measurement in vascularsegments/ endothelial cells and gene expression analysis via qRT-PCR orgene chip; and an understanding of VEGF biology and GPCR pharmacologyare all preferred.
