Description
An immediate Great Lakes Bioenergy Research Center funded post doctoralposition is available to work on developing computational models forimproving cellulose degradation. The developed model will assess themetabolic burden of producing recombinant cellulases, and comparestrategies of enzyme secretion versus membrane localization. Thedeveloped model will include mass transfer processes (diffusion) andtransport rate equations to evaluate the strategies to maximizecellulose degradation and utilization. Modeling experience (stochastic, dynamic, transport, and/or spatial/temporal) is required. Experiencewith optimization approaches and languages is desirable. Research willbe conducted in the Department of Chemical & Biological Engineeringat University of Wisconsin-Madison.
