The Institute for Animal Health is the largest charity undertakingresearch into infectious diseases of animals in the UK.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and curiosity-driven postdoctoralscientist for a BBSRC-funded post to investigate the role of autophagyin the replication of the avian coronavirus infectious bronchitis virus(IBV). The project will involve the identification of IBV replicationcomplexes using electron microscopy, the generation of antibodiesagainst IBV replicase proteins and the use of confocal microscopy forinvestigating the interaction of the replication complexes with host proteins.

Alongside a relevant PhD, you will bring some experience of cell biologyfor the identification of cellular compartments and proteins usingconfocal microscopy. Broad knowledge of molecular biology and molecularvirology would also be useful, and you must be willing and able to workwith vaccinia virus.
