Postdoctoral Research positions are available immediately at the Computational Biology Branch of NCBI, NIH.
We seek candidates to study the genomic encryption of gene regulation in the human and other complex genomes. This work will combine genome data mining, statistical methods development, machine learning techniques, and whole-genome data integration to work on:
• deciphering the semantics of the gene regulatory code
• studying the evolution of gene regulatory networks
• developing computational methods to predict tissue-specific enhancers and repressors
• identifying disease-causing mutations within gene regulatory elements
Successful candidates must have a Ph.D. and less than 5 years of postdoctoral experience, preferably in comparative genomics, statistics / machine learning, population genetics, and/or bioinformatics.
