Job Description:

The Plant Sensory Genomics Group in the Department of Plant Biology is seeking a qualified applicant for one Postdoctoral Research Associate position. The position is part of a collaborative project between Dr. Terri Lomax, Dr. Heike Sederoff, and Dr. Chris Brown to study the regulation of gene expression by miRNA in plant tropic responses. The research involves biochemical, molecular, genomic and genetic approaches to identify miRNA networks and their regulators involved in the transcriptional and translational processes of gene expression in response to gravity and light. Requirements: Ph.D. in plant molecular biology, genetics or related areas. Additional requirements include molecular biology techniques, and effective written and verbal communication skills. Experience in plant transformation and an interest in systems biology approaches are welcome. Anticipated starting date is October, 2007.
