Job Description:

A postdoctoral position is available in carcinogenesis and chemoprevention laboratory, to study role of mutation in adenomatous polyposis coli gene as a risk for breast carcinogenesis and its prevention by dietary spice curcumin. We are utilizing Min mouse in vitro and in vivo model system to study altered cascade of signal pathways during carcinogenesis and its prevention by curcumin. Cell biological, genetic and molecular biological approaches will be utilized to discover pathways that lead to breast cancer development. Our lab is a part of Surgery Department at the Weill Medical College of Cornell University located in the heart of New York City.

Requirements:
Ph.D. in biological sciences and must reside in the USA.

Essential Functions:
Comprehensive understanding and review of relevant literature, Hypothesis generation, experimental planning and performing for in vitro and in vivo murine models of breast cancer, study of cell signaling, flow cytometry, western blotting, immunohistochemistry, quantitative RT-PCR, preparation of figures and drafts of manuscripts for publication, supervision of more junior members (e.g. summer undergraduate/graduate students) in the laboratory.
