Postdoctoral Research Position- Gynecologic Cancer Research  
 
Job Description:

The University of South Alabama (USA) has initiated development of the USA Mitchell Cancer Institute (USA-MCI), which will be the flagship institution in providing multidisciplinary cancer care for the community of Mobile, Alabama and the surrounding Gulf Coast area. We are interested in recruiting research scholars who have a profound interest and dedication to translational gynecologic cancer research, including Ovarian Cancer, Endometrial Cancer, Cervical Cancer, and Uterine Sarcomas. A phase I/II clinical trials unit will be an integral component in the translational focus of diagnostic and therapeutic molecular targets, with an emphasis on new drug therapies. This is a unique opportunity for a motivated candidate to enter a fostering environment of researchers focused on cancer research. Candidates with a PhD and/or MD with a strong background any of the following will be considered: stem cell/progenitor cell research, molecular and cell biology, cell and tissue cultures, murine models of cancer, genomics, and proteomics.

The USA-MCI is ideally located in the family friendly Mobile, Alabama. This progressive, mid-sized port city contains a rich cultural history and is located on the Gulf Coast which contributes to an abundance of outdoor recreational activities. Additionally, a “college town” atmosphere and low cost of living lends itself to a high quality of life opportunity.
