Hormone-Dependent Women’s Cancers
Albert Einstein College of Medicine Cancer Center
The Albert Einstein College of Medicine Cancer Center (AECC) seeks an investigator who works in the area of hormone-dependent malignancies with an emphasis on breast cancer. Areas of particular interest are: (i) molecular basis of steroid hormone action – epigenetics, co-activators/repressors at the chromatin level, (ii) the impact of steroid hormones on cells in the tumor microenvironment, (iii) mechanisms of tumor escape from hormone dependency. There is special interest in research that utilizes mouse genetics and/or genomic approaches. Faculty rank is flexible, depending on the experience of the applicant, with appointments in an appropriate academic department and AECC program. PhD, MD, and MD/PhD’s are invited to apply.
AECC was among the first academic centers to receive NCI designation. There are currently 120 members, seven research programs, and a broad portfolio of interdisciplinary research encompassing basic, translational, clinical, and epidemiological studies. Basic research activities are supported by ten core laboratory facilities along with Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, and Epidemiology Informatics cores.
