Postdoctoral Position In vivo Microscopic Imaging

Job Description:

A postdoctoral position is currently available in the Department of Medicine to spearhead a research project of in vivo optical imaging studying renal and cardiovascular diseases. Methods to be used including animal models for acute and chronic kidney diseases (renal failure, proteinuria, etc) and atherosclerosis, multiphoton excitation microscopy, second harmonic generation in tissues, confocal microscopy and quantum dot nanotechnologies. There are ample opportunities to collaborate with Indiana Center for Biological Microscopy, Purdue Science and Engineering Schools and Eli Lilly Research Labs in the direction of in vivo imaging using biophotonic techniques. These efforts are supported by funds from NIH, Eli Lilly and Company, and the University. The focus of this postdoctoral position will be on physiology and optical imaging applications in disease studies. Please include your experience of any in vivo work you had in the application.

Required: Ph.D., M.D. or equivalent, with background in physiology, biophysics, biomedical engineering, or related fields. Previous training in working with animal models and/or optical imaging techniques is desirable but not required.
