A NIH-funded postdoc researcher position is open immediately in the Laboratory of Dr. Lei Zheng, Center for Membrane Biology, Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, The University of Texas Houston Medical School.
The fellow will focus on structure and function of membrane-associated enzymes involved in bacterial lipid biosynthesis and their cellular regulatory mechanism using microbiology, protein biochemistry and protein X-ray crystallography. More details will be provided upon request.
The ideal candidate is expected to receive his/her PhD in microbiology or biochemistry in less than 3 years. He/she should have excellent practice of routine molecular biology, protein expression and purification. Previous experience on lipid research or bacterial metabolism will be a great asset. Self-motivation and critical thinking with team working spirit are expected to successfully perform this project.
