桑福德伯纳姆医学研究所干细胞生物学研究博士后职位

日期:2015-01-12

We seek a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to study the roles of RNA modification in stem cell biology and cancer development. mRNA and noncoding RNA modification, particularly methylation at the N6 position of adenosine (N6-methyladenosine), has emerged as an important research area in epigenetics and RNA biology. My lab identified a protein complex that governs N6-methyladenosine formation. We found such modification shortens the half-life of mRNAs, including developmental regulators, in mouse embryonic stem cells. Currently, we are digging deeper into the molecular mechanisms through which m6A regulates RNA activity, using a combination of biochemistry, cell biology, and high throughout sequencing technologies. Please refer to our recent publication for further information (Nature Cell Biology 16 (2): 191-8, Feb. 2014). This position is expected to start in May 2015.

Requirements: Ph.D. and/or M.D. candidate with a background in biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, and/or animal models are encouraged to apply. Interested applicants should submit a CV, 3 reference letters, and a cover letter to Dr. Crystal Zhao czhao@sanfordburnham.org
