The Translational Sciences Department is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to develop and lead an independent research project focused on the functional characterization of mutations identified in various cancer indications.
The successful candidate will join the Pharmacogenomics group at MedImmune and have the opportunity to be involved in various aspects of drug discovery and development. In this position, postdoctoral research will be focused on characterization of the biological function and mechanism of action associated with cancer-related mutations, insertions and deletions identified through next generation sequencing methodologies. A motivated fellow will gain considerable experience and multiple publication opportunities in the oncology field, as well as in many aspects of cellular/molecular biology and translational research.

*Doctoral and/or Post-Doctoral research; demonstrated ability to conduct a high level research project
*Hands on skills in cellular and molecular techniques including cell culture, use of primary tissues and cells, RNA isolation, PCR, cell transfection/transduction, cell growth/apoptosis assays, cell transformation, ELISA, and western blot
*Hands-on in vivo experience and familiarity with multiple in vivo cancer models
*Specific experience with pancreatic and lung cancers preferred but not required
PhD with experience in cell biology, cancer biology, or closely related field
